Falling Jasmine | Carolina Herrera

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Been down with flu, and couldnt blog the past few days but, hey I had some great Experience at Carolina Herrera Last Wednesday. As always, am going to let the pictures do the speaking. The jewellery collection “Falling Jasmine” by Carolina Herrera had its global launch in Qatar. The collections were oh-so-delicate, and timeless. Really loved the entire collection. Getting a chance to even speak with the iconic designer was another memory altogether. She said these collections were inspired from the jasmines in her garden which were a favorite of her mother.

They even had jasmine themed canapes for the event which was pretty cool. Now off to the visual narration,

That Book You Must Read | Watersmeet by Rachel Cotterill

I used to read a lot of books until almost third year of University, after which things became hectic for me. Been few years now, and this January I came across Shopaholic & Baby which got me into the reading wagon and here I am ready to review yet another interesting read – Rachel Cotterill’s Watersmeet. For those who love a little bit of contemporary settings that includes forts and baronies, this is an enjoyable and fictious must-read. The personas in the book were my favorite part. Cherish the character’s personality to the heart very much – The Lord of Watersmeet and the apprentice who joins him. Realization of the beauty of a person’s soul at close-hand makes the story all the more a must-read. Rumors that always tend to begin when someone tries to work hard, and be sharing which is very much relatable to today’s world have been captured very well in the story. If you want something light, and can keep you on your toes till the very end, then Watersmeet is a must-read on your chat list.

Have you read Watersmeet yet? If not you can get your copy here https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/501755

If you did, then do feel free to leave your review in comments.

Until Next Time,

Bio Oil For You | Win It!

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]

Originated and manufactured in South Africa, this problem-solution specialist skincare oil was launched in 1987 and has grown to become the global leader in this segment over the last 26 years. Globally, Bio-Oil has won more than 135 skincare awards, as well as becoming the No.1 selling scar and stretch mark product in 17 countries. It is also the product most recommended by pharmacists for scars and stretch marks in the UK, Australia and South Africa. Many doctors and pharmacists around the world recommend Bio-Oil as their first choice for scars and stretch marks.

Bio-Oil is also highly effective for numerous other skin concerns including ageing and dehydrated skin on all parts of the body.

I find it an almost weightless oil that is only just a little greasy to the touch. This absorbs faster than you would expect it too but don’t expect too much on the scent scale. Nothing too nasty, just a very tolerable clinical smell.

[/vc_column_text][fancy-ul icon_type=”font_icon” icon=”icon-heart” color=”Accent-Color” enable_animation=”true”]The top 10 uses for Bio-Oil as shared by fanatics around the world are:

  • Reduce the appearance of stretch mark: In a proDERM 2010 clinical study, 100% of subjects recorded an improvement in 8 weeks. Based on the study, 90% of subjects said Bio-Oil helped reduce the appearance of the pigmentation (colour).
  • Say goodbye to blotchiness and uneven skin tone: Based on the Stephens & Associates 2011 clinical study, after 12 weeks 86% of subjects using Bio-Oil showed a statistically significant improvement in uneven skin tone on the face.
  • Acne scars treatment: Try using Bio-Oil on the acne spot religiously to reduce the appearance of scars. Apply twice daily on the affected area for minimum of 3 months for best results to be seen. Do not use on broken skin.
  • Nourish aging skin with Bio-Oil’s combination of vitamins A and E, Calendula, Lavender and Rosemary oils, and Chamomile extract.
  • Moisturize dry, cracked elbows, heels and skin calluses, rub on Bio-Oil religiously to make them feel soft and moisturized.
  • Dry cuticles: Treat dry cuticles after nail treatments and hand wash.
  • Tame pesky fly-aways with Bio-Oil and use it as a hair serum.
  • Use as massage oil. Relax and treat your skin at the same time.
  • Use Bio-Oil as a makeup primer right before your foundation for a dewy long-lasting finish.

If you invest on bio-oil, you get a product that works AND can function as a moisturizer, a hair serum or a makeup primer. I’ve done the hair serum bit and think that while it could be better, it does work quite okay to keep unruly fringes in check. This is one product that I’ll not hesitate to recommend.[/fancy-ul][vc_column_text]As for the post, it is not just a review but a reminder for the ongoing giveaway on the facebook page at

Just in case you are curious, the giveaway ends on the 5th of March.

Head over there if you havent participated yet and stand yourself a chance to win the bio oil gift bag. Also, if you have used bio-oil before you can leave a review in the comment box.

Wishing you a wonderful month and a beautiful day!

Until next time,

Keeping your Hormones In Check | A Bello Moi Contribution

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]

When hormones are disrupted, the skin will also be disrupted and suffer.

The endocrine system is the body’s system that is in control of the hormones. The glands secrete hormones into the blood stream to be used by specific organs or for specific functions. The major endocrine glands include the pineal gland, pituitary gland, pancreas, ovaries, testes, thyroid gland, parathyroid gland, and adrenal glands.

The tiny pituitary gland is located at the base of the brain. Even though it is small it plays a big part in secreting growth hormones to regulate body and bone tissue growth. The gland also controls the balance of water in the body. A body that is dehydrated will have a shallow skin tone. The rear lobe of the pituitary gland increases the pigmentation in the skin.

The pineal gland is located in the middle of the brain. This gland is in charge of secreting melatonin. The hormone, melatonin, helps regulate sleep patterns. Having good sleep is so important for the repair and health of the skin.

The pancreas is also part of the body’s hormone-secreting system, even though it is also associated with the digestive system because it produces and secretes digestive enzymes. The digestive process is so important for flushing toxic waste from the body to keep the skin looking healthy.

The ovaries and testes control the hormones estrogen, progesterone and testosterone. When these hormones are not functioning properly, a loss of skin elastin and collagen can occur. Also, an increase in break outs of acne can arise.

The thyroid gland that is located in the neck sometimes producing too many hormones – hyperthyroidism – resulting in hair loss, itching, clammy skin and excessive sweating. On the other hand, when the thyroid gland does not produce enough hormones – hypothyroidism – the results can cause sensitive and dry skin with a shallow yellow hue. The hair and fingernails can also become brittle.

The parathyroid glands are four tiny glands attached to the thyroid gland that releases the hormone parathyroid that regulates the body’s calcium level. Calcium is important for skin renewal.

The adrenal glands are two glands attached to the top of each kidney. These glands produce the hormones corticosteroid and catecholamine. They regulate salt and water balance, blood pressure, and heart rate when stress is experienced. They also help balance the body’s metabolism, immune system system, and sexual development and function. Also involved is the important regulation of the body’s response to inflammation. The skin wants to avoid inflammation.

The key to keeping a healthy endocrine system is by eating a healthy diet to nourish these important glands. In turn, you will be nourishing your skin for continual turn over of renewed skin cells and a healthy vibrant glow.

Qatar Airways A350 XWB Launch

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]An invitation to the launch of the Qatar Airways A350 XWB was the best event to get invited to at the helm of 2015. Qatar Airways on the 7th of January welcomed the airline’s first A350 XWB aircraft, as global launch customer, at a spectacular ceremony. The press conference was a very enjoyable information exchange session. The experience at the A 350 event was a whole new level for me. I got to even sit in the cockpit and probably am one of the youngest to ever sit on the cockpit of an A350 because that was the first one that came!

For those who are curious about the giant bird, here’s waht you would need to know: The aircraft is a new world of comfort in itself.

Passengers will benefit from a new boarding experience achieved by a unique dome-design entrance with welcome light distribution. The aircraft also offers wide seats with generous room in all classes of service thanks to a number of design developments offering greater comfort to all passengers.

The Business Class cabin has 36 seats in a 1-2-1 configuration featuring an 80” full flat bed and 17” HD in-flight entertainment screen and a spacious inflight bar. The Economy Class features 247 18-inch wide seats in a 3-3-3 configuration, each with a 10.6” in-flight entertainment screen, and more space at shoulder level for passengers in window seats due to the vertical side wall panel design.

Qatar Airways A350 XWB features the-state-of-the art Oryx entertainment system, with more than 1,000 entertainment options on individual screens in all classes. The jet also offers advanced air conditioning technology and LED mood lighting to enhance the comfort of passengers while reducing fatigue after a long flight. In addition, the jet will also offer in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity for all passengers allowing them to surf the web on the go.

Over 70 percent of the A350 XWB’s weight-efficient airframe is made from advanced materials combining composites (53 percent), titanium and advanced aluminium alloys. The aircraft’s innovative all-new Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) fuselage results in lower fuel burn as well as easier maintenance.

To pictures and glimpses of what was a spectacular event, and until next time, good bye!
